We know that District 69 is a large area. Covering over 2 million square kilometres, it has always been a challenge to deliver Club Leadership Training across the District.
An extensive proposal was written and presented to Toastmasters International CEO Dan Rex seeking permission to conduct Club Leadership Training via the Zoom platform.
Permission has now been obtained.
Face to face training will still be the preferred method for members, but having another online alternative will allow all members of District 69 to shine.
More details to come.
Interesting. I wish all the Online clubs take a cue and seek approval similarly
Thank-you for this initiative. It will certainly widen the reach of this training in our regions.

I think in this modern world of electronic connections, this could be a very useful way of learning. It might also solve the problem for people of travelling to and fro from TM meetings. However, there is nothing quite like the personal interaction that occurs when a group of people meet face-to-face.
As a non-profit organisation, it will definitely solve logistic costs for those hard to reach places. I can say with confidence that Zoom works in Papua New Guinea but will need a bigger screen (venue) + printing support / link support to get that overall quality of engagement & learning (something that needs planning with P Division Director).
In the world of Pathways and online Toastmasters training, I think Zoom as a platform is an excellent tangent fr online officer training. So much more can be covered to so many. Sure there is a place for in-person training but why not include Zoom as an option?
